Summary/Abstract: The Book of Acts traces the history of the Church, more importantly, however, it shows the “economy of the Holy Spirit” – His descent, action, and presence in the community of believers. It stands in deep theological unity with the Gospels, presenting the continuation of Christ’s work in a new form – through His Spirit working in the Church. As the Gospels reveal Christ in His earthly ministry, Acts shows Christ working “in and through the Spirit” in the lives of believers. The Spirit discloses God’s truth (revelation) making Christ’s salvation tangible and accessible within history while illuminating the minds of believers (interpretation) to enable a true understanding of Scripture and ecclesial events within the living context of Tradition. All ecclesial life – from mission and pastoral care to conciliar decisions – is guided by the Holy Spirit, who directs believers through inner enlightenment and synergistic cooperation.
