Summary/Abstract: The purpose of the proposed text is to show the influence of the Magnaur School on the theocratic views of its graduate Athanasius the Librarian according to "The Answers of Pope Nicholas I to the Inquiries of the Bulgarians." It is these views that motivate Athanasius the Librarian to give the appropriate answers to the questions of the Bulgarian ruler in a key period for Bulgaria. A large part of them, which were accepted by Bulgarian society, are precisely those that lie at the heart of Bulgarian religious, cultural and political life at that fateful moment when the foundations of Bulgarian church and state life were laid.
