Summary/Abstract: Known for his plays, Jean Giraudoux is a great French playwright of the 20th century. He mixes poetry, philosophy, and political reflections with irony, humor, and his vision of humanity. The poetic dialogue, rewriting of myths, themes of war and peace, irony, humor, and humanism with pessimism characterized his French theater. We believe the Giralducian theater embodies a theater of ideas where dialogues explore philosophical and moral concepts with nuance. The playwright is concerned with social and political issues like war and peace, approached with philosophical depth. His theater anticipated postwar issues, especially the absurdity of the human condition and lack of communication. Jean Giraudoux explored human dilemmas like the tragedy of destiny, absurdity of conflicts, and fatality, while offering a poetic reflection on the world. In his plays, Giraudoux addressed major social and political issues, particularly the absurdity of war and bureaucracy, subjects of interest to him. His plays critique contemporary society through subtle dialogue and humor. Giraudoux's writing style features a certain language influenced by poetry and philosophy. He uses dialogue to reveal the complexity of ideas rather than just advance the action. Most of his works reflect on war due to his personal experience in the First World War. Giraudoux takes a skeptical and disillusioned view of international politics, with pessimism about humanity's ability to avoid conflict. Through his pieces, he seeks to bring peace and balance.
