MANIPULATION OF MASS CONSCIOUSNESS: PHILOSOPHICAL ANALYSIS

Summary/Abstract: In the context of a change in the communicative paradigm in modern society, much attention is paid to the problem of consciousness. It is the most important manifestation ofspiritual life, on the functioning of which not only the life of an individual person depends, but also the development of the entire civilization and the formation of an appropriate model of reality. If in past centuries the problems of consciousness were studied through the prism of ontology or epistemology, today the problems of manipulation of mass consciousness come to the fore. In such areas of knowledge as history, psychology, political science, sociology, economics, neuroscience, there are different definitions of this phenomenon, focusing on the subject of study of each of them. However, this area still requires worldview and philosophical answers. The article addresses the issue of manipulation as an effective way of controlling people՚s consciousness, which involves the transformation of value orientations, cultural codes, meanings, narratives and stereotypes in order to exercise maximum ideological control over a person and society. The fact is stated that the issue of manipulation of mass consciousness by philosophy remains open to study and has not been fully understood in modern research.
