Summary/Abstract: The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between the perceived level of emotional abuse and emotional awareness in adolescents. The study was conducted using the correlational survey model, one of the quantitative research methods; data were collected using measurement tools with established validity and reliability. The obtained data were evaluated using correlation and regression analyses. The research findings indicate a negative and moderately significant relationship between emotional abuse and emotional awareness. Accordingly, it was determined that as individuals' perceived level of emotional abuse increased, their level of emotional awareness, which includes the ability to recognize, distinguish, and name their emotions, decreased significantly. It was determined that dimensions of abuse such as belittling, emotional neglect, and constant criticism have a moderate negative effect on emotional awareness. Regression analysis results revealed that emotional abuse is a significant predictor of emotional awareness and contributes negatively to the model at a moderate level. This finding indicates that emotional abuse is an important risk factor that weakens an individual's capacity to recognize their internal emotional processes. Furthermore, it can be said that emotional abuse negatively affects awareness-based emotional functioning by increasing alienation from one's emotions. In conclusion, the findings obtained from the research indicate that emotional abuse has a negative impact on emotional awareness.
