Summary/Abstract: This paper explores the life and work of architect Vsevolod Aleksandrovich Tatarinov, a Russian immigrant who significantly contributed to the architectural landscape of Niš and other cities in the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes/Yugoslavia during the first half of the 20th century. Through an analysis of existing literature and historical sources, the paper highlights key aspects of Tatarinov’s architectural work and his role in developing modern architecture in the region. Research indicates that Tatarinov designed important public and residential buildings in Niš, including the National Theater of Morava Banovina and the building for Morava Banovina officials. By reviewing available works, scholarly articles, and archival materials, the paper underscores the lack of comprehensive research on Tatarinov’s life and the challenges in accessing original projects. Newly found archival material brings to light important biographical informations about the architect Vsevolod Tatarinov, also members of his family, wife Tatyana Litvinova Tatarinov and daughter Zinaida Tatarinov. An important contribution of this research is the discovery of materials in the archives of São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The period of his life following World War II and his subsequent emigration to Brazil are also examined in detail. This scientific work emphasizes the significance of Tatarinov’s contributions to the architectural culture of Yugoslavia and encourages further research in architectural history and the role of Russian émigrés in the architectural development of the Balkans.
