Summary/Abstract: The focus of this paper is on the process of amendment of Article 52a of the Code of Criminal Procedure aimed at strengthening the rights of victims due to the implementation of the minimum standards resulting from Directive 2012/29/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council of 25 October 2012, which has not yet been fully implemented. New instruments for the realization of the rights, support, and protection of victims of crimes are evaluated along with how victims’ individual needs of support and protection are assessed. The rights of the child to protection from secondary and repeated victimization during evidentiary activities with their participation are emphasized.
