Summary/Abstract: Ground ivy (Glechoma hederacea) has been used for centuries in both folk medicine and cuisine. It has been valued for its “blood-cleansing” properties, digestive support, and role in treating respiratory diseases. This plant was widely utilized to treat skin infections, accelerate the healing of wounds, ulcers, and burns. In herbal tradition, ground ivy was also used for treating infl ammations and infections, both internal and external. Traditional methods of using the herb included infusions, syrups, and compresses aimed at alleviating various ailments such as coughs, colds, skin inflammations, and digestive disorders. Modern research confirms its health benefits, and the plant is increasingly recognized in natural medicine. Thanks to its easy availability and versatility, ground ivy has the potential to become an integral part of modern phytotherapeutic strategies.
