Summary/Abstract: This paper offers a linguistic analysis of conceptual metaphors and metonymies in the political speeches of Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović, with the aim of determining how these linguistic mechanisms shape political discourse. The study is grounded in the theoretical framework of cognitive linguistics, which views metaphor and metonymy as key tools for conceptualizing and structuring reality through language. The analysis is based on a selected corpus of public speeches and employs qualitative methods for identifying and classifying conceptual figures. Particular attention is given to the roles played by metaphors in constructing collective identity and reinforcing political authority. Metonymic structures, such as the substitution of institutions for individuals or symbols for abstract entities, are examined as devices of linguistic economy and emotional resonance. The introductory section outlines key concepts and presents the theoretical background, while the main part of the paper provides analysis of the metaphors. The conclusion highlights the systematic use of metaphor and metonymy in articulating the ideas of unity and stability.
