Summary/Abstract: As Berlin faces mounting pressure to act amidst an increasingly volatile and uncertain geopolitical environment – from Russia’s war against Ukraine to growing instability within the transatlantic community – this article examines whether Germany is capable of rethinking and then articulating its grand strategy. What should Germany’s grand strategy look like in this new and increasingly unpredictable world? The article explores the potential for a strategic reawakening in Germany, assessing whether the country is prepared to adapt its strategic culture and navigate its way towards a more assertive leadership role in Europe.
