Summary/Abstract: One of the biggest problems for intelligence agencies is undoubtedly the betrayal of their own personnel. The study examined the problem of what could happen if a unit whose only duty was to catch spies within the organization was established. The place of espionage in intelligence production should be determined and espionage motives should be shown so that solution proposals can be developed against these activities. Therefore, in addition to the main problem, the sub-problem sentences of “what is the place of espionage in intelligence production?” and “what are the factors that push people to espionage?” were also sought. In this context, the study examined documents such as articles, books, reports, lesson plans, theses, and interview texts using the qualitative data analysis method. Based on the obtained data, it proposes the establishment of an Internal Security Unit (IGB) within the intelligence agencies.
