Summary/Abstract: Artificial Intelligence (AI) plays an increasingly pivotal role in transforming the energy sector by offering intelligent solutions for improving efficiency, reducing costs, and ensuring a more sustainable gas transmission system. By employing AI technologies such as machine learning, big data analytics, and predictive modelling, transmission system operators can optimise the management of transportation, allocation, and utilisation of both available and reserved capacity. Applications include consumption forecasting, optimisation of SCADA and CAD system operations, anomaly detection, and maintenance of critical infrastructure based on real-time data. Additionally, AI supports the integration of renewable energy sources and the development of smart grids. This technological evolution results in a more flexible, reliable, and efficient energy sector, capable of meeting contemporary environmental and economic challenges in compliance with EU Gas Network Codes.
