PEDAGOGICAL AND SOCIAL ENGAGEMENT OF KASIM PROHIĆ

Summary/Abstract: This paper on Kasim Prohić aims to present in an autochthonous way a piece of Bosnia and Herzegovina›s intellectual traditions to prevent our heritage from being «researched and presented» by disinterested observers or «bystanders» without substantial attachment to the regional culture. That is why it›s necessary to observe this paper as authentic, because of its many evident matters, but also for the nature of geophilosophy and geopolitics. Professor Prohić›s life and work were an «open form», much needed for everyone, but at the same time dangerous for his spiritual and overall survival. Professor Prohić›s ethical and responsible engagement opposed the «Greater Serbian nationalists, even when they didn›t think they would replace the five-pointed star with a cockade». That is why it is with the right to assert that Professor Prohić›s overall involvement always emphasized Bosnian uniqueness and independence.
