Summary/Abstract: The influence of physical activity on mental health has become increasingly significant in contemporary society, characterized by its rapid pace and constant transformations. Despite the well-documented advantages of physical activity, it frequently remains a secondary consideration within therapeutic methodologies. Empirical research consistently demonstrates that engagement in physical activity reduces stress, anxiety, and depressive symptoms, functioning both as an intervention and a preventative strategy. Regular physical exercise is associated with a reduction in cortisol levels, an increase in endorphin secretion, and the enhancement of emotional fortitude. Varied activities, including aerobic exercises (such as running, swimming, and walking), strength training, flexibility-enhancing practices (such as yoga and Tai Chi), and team sports, not only contribute to physical health but also promote mental well-being, facilitate social interaction, and cultivate a positive self-concept. Scientific findings indicate that exercise can be comparably effective as antidepressant medications for individuals experiencing mild to moderate depression, while enhancing self-esteem and mental strength. Furthermore, techniques such as mindful breathing and mindfulness meditation contribute to immediate alleviation of stress and support emotional regulation. Even moderate and consistent engagement in physical activity can result in considerable mental health advantages, underscoring the imperative to incorporate exercise into daily routines for psychological equilibrium and resilience in the face of life's adversities.
