Summary/Abstract: Antalya was incorporated into the Anatolian Seljuk territories with its conquest by Gıyaseddin Keyhüsrev I in 1207; with the conquest of Alanya by Alaaddin Keykubad I in 1221, surrounding districts such as Gazipaşa, Manavgat, and İbradı also came under Seljuk rule. With these conquests, a process of revival and construction began in the regions, resulting in the emergence of many monumental structures reflecting the Anatolian Seljuk identity. In particular, the use of Alanya as a winter palace and administrative center necessitated the opening of a caravan route between Beyşehir, the main administrative center, and Alanya, requiring the construction of caravanserais, the most important building form of the period, along the route. The expansion of this road network to connect the entire Antalya region to neighboring provinces and the construction of caravanserais at specific intervals reveal the architectural development in the region. Caravanserais, the most important architectural form seen in the region, are examined through specific examples and constitute the subject of this article in terms of their current status and conservation recommendations.
