Summary/Abstract: The specific features that either constitute, or may serve as grounds for regulating differentiated rules for conducting particular categories of criminal cases, have been examined. It has been established that several independent grounds exist, which are deemed as sufficiently substantial to determine procedural differentiation, whereas in other instances the simultaneous presence of several particular features of the case is relevant. It has been found that some of these specificities belong entirely to the sphere of criminal procedure itself, and are completely independent of substantive criminal law.
