Summary/Abstract: Digital forensics, as a scientific discipline focused on the identification, collection, analysis, and presentation of digital evidence, is increasingly gaining relevance within the framework of the green digital transformation. This transformation involves the integration of environmentally sustainable practices into information and communication technologies, aiming to reduce resource consumption and carbon emissions. Forensic principles can substantially enhance the security, transparency, and resilience of digital ecosystems that support green technologies — including smart grids, IoT devices, and energy management systems. Particular emphasis is placed on ensuring data integrity related to energy efficiency, detecting manipulation in automated systems, and uncovering illicit activities that threaten sustainable business models. This paper explores how digital forensics can serve as a foundational tool in building trust in green technologies and contribute to the development of secure, transparent, and environmentally responsible digital systems.
