Summary/Abstract: The true number of ethnic Albanians in Kosovo and Metohia has been a subject of manipulation for quite some time. Efforts have been made to magnify their numbers and to claim that their population is rapidly increasing, while at the same time claiming that the share of the Serbian population is already negligible and bound to get even smaller.1 These claims are being used as a key argument to the effect that Kosovo has been “lost” and that it is a “myth” and a “burden,” which is why the current Serbian authorities must “save” us by amputating a part of Serbia (whose territorial integrity is guaranteed by UN SC Resolution 1244) and gifting it to a Greater Albania, which is currently in statu nascendi.
