Summary/Abstract: This paper examines the representation of Alexander the Great in history textbooks across the territory of Yugoslavia, during the existence of the Yugoslav state. The research involves a historiographical analysis of the content, with attention to shifts in methodological approaches and value frameworks depending on the historical and political context. Particular focus is given to how ideological factors influence the selection and interpretation of historical facts. Through the case of Alexander the Great, the study demonstrates how interpretations of historical figures become a reflection of the prevailing social and political paradigm.
