Summary/Abstract: The term “contemporary Serbian novel”, which is used in the subtitle of this essay, refers quite precisely to novelistic works written in the Serbian literary language and published in the last two decades, i.e. from the end of the eighties of the twentieth century until today, in the interval which in manifold ways, as we have seen in the example of lyric poetry, means discontinuity and change.
