Summary/Abstract: Over the last 30 years, a considerable number of scientific papers have been published on a particular branch of national musicology – the history of Serbian music literature. We believe that the time has come to bring to light an elaborate history of that research – the main authors’ names, books, discussions, opinion journalism – as well as problems from this segment of Serbian musicology. At the end, the paper points to potential directions and tasks of future research of national musicography until 1945.
