Summary/Abstract: This study presents a comprehensive examination of the theoretical and practical dimensions of the concept of design, with a particular focus on biomimetic design, ecosystem-based approaches, and innovative design strategies. Initially, the historical development and fundamental principles of traditional design approaches are analyzed, emphasizing the balance between aesthetics and functionality within the design process. Subsequently, the concept of biomimetic design is explored in depth, evaluating nature’s potential to serve as a source of inspiration for engineering and design practices. The levels of biomimetic design are examined in comparison with the principles of natural ecosystems, focusing on how these levels can be integrated into digital environments and contemporary design processes. At the ecosystem level, it is emphasized that the design process follows a cyclical and feedbackoriented structure rather than a linear one. The potential contributions of multi-actor interactions and knowledge sharing to the efficiency of the design process are also discussed. Furthermore, the study addresses the formation of a digital infrastructure for interior architectural design ecosystems and evaluates its anticipated contributions to the design process. The optimization of communication among clients, designers, and other stakeholders through digital platforms, along with the integration of data analytics and AI-assisted decision-making mechanisms, is highlighted as a means of redefining and enhancing the design workflow.
