Summary/Abstract: This paper examines the importance of extracurricular activities in language acquisition, with a focus on French and Russian, within the contemporary frameworks of globalisation and social media. It highlights how, beyond formal teaching, immersive engagement through media, social networks, and active practice enhances learners’ competencies in reading, listening, writing, and oral expression. The study highlights the significance of understanding cultural contexts in motivating and facilitating effective communication. Additionally, it demonstrates how language skills developed through these activities contribute to business communication and cross-cultural interaction, which are indispensable in the global economy. The paper advocates for integrative language learning approaches that combine educational, cultural, and economic dimensions to prepare learners for real-world communicative challenges.
