Summary/Abstract: Water is a part of the non-living nature essential for the survival of all living beings. Although two-thirds of the planet is covered with water, its quality is decreasing rapidly, putting in risk everyone. Pollutants are various which fighting pollution makes hard. It is necessary to organize and coordinate not only governments hence other actors (international organizations, industry, NGOs, academia and individuals) in order to successfully reduce polution. In order to do so, the United Nations founded the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) in 1972. as an authority on the environment. Besides bringing together representatives of all stakeholders it follows climate-related cases around the world and publishes annual global reports on those cases since 1986. when the first environmental case was submitted to the court.
