Summary/Abstract: This study examines the effects of spaces in rural and urban areas on young people based on relevant literature. With the migration of the population from rural areas to cities, most of the young people live in urban areas while some continue to live in rural areas. In order for young people to look to the future with confidence, they need material, social and ecological security. Therefore, more importance should be given to young people in both urban and rural areas and their needs should be met. In this respect, the effect of space on young people is extremely important in terms of their physical, mental and social development. The spaces where young people spend their time affect their well-being, behaviours, identities, learning capacities and social interactions. While social spaces are shaped by the social practices and social structures of individuals, social classes are also reproduced through spaces. In this study, the theoretical definition of space is first made through Bourdieu's sociological perspective. Because Bourdieu's approach provides a multidimensional map to understand the dynamics of relationships between actors in a specific space. In the study, a descriptive scanning method, one of the qualitative research techniques, was used to scan domestic and foreign printed and online sources. According to the research results, while the problems of young people living in both urban and rural areas differ, it is seen that their solutions are linked to macro-level processes. In addition, the results of this study show that there is no single rural and urban classification, and that there are young people in urban areas who do not have access to urban opportunities or have partial access due to class distinctions, and on the other hand, there are young people who do not lack urban experience within the framework of the opportunities they have despite living in rural areas.
