Summary/Abstract: The paper discusses various linguistic phenomena in Bulgarian in which there is a tendency of grammatical marking suppression. As a consequence, the influence of the pragmatic factors increases on the correct interpretation of an utterance in specific contexts. Very often, the above-mentioned trend is also related to the violation of the current language norm. A special focus is put to phenomena such as the higher analytism in some pronouns, the reduction of the grammar markings in the vocative forms of nouns; the presence of increased context-oriented agreement; the narrowed use of the definite article; the mixing of the count form and the simple plural one in masculine nouns; the reduction of the reflexive pronouns within the coreference chains.
