Summary/Abstract: Ewaryst Estkowski (1820–1856), who came from Wielkopolska, believed that the most important task in raising children was teaching religion, reading, writing, counting, the history of one’s own homeland, geography and drawing, and physical education. On these pillars he based his detailed program of raising children, which was to be a patriotic-religious-moral education. He saw religious education as the basis of all knowledge acquired by the student, and the main task of the upbringing process should be to create a good, righteous person who loves God, neighbors, and their homeland, i.e. Poland – a state he dreamed of, like other Poles of that time.
