Summary/Abstract: This paper analyses four plays by Ivan Negrišorac within their historical, ideological, aesthetic, and poetic contexts. Special attention is given to the language, which is presented as the dominant element, generating the plot and conflicts, and flourishing in its dramatic truthfulness. The plays are also examined in the context of dramas from the 1990s, which were often ideologically and politically charged. Despite their varied genres, these plays possess a high degree of dramatic tension and remain topically relevant today.
