Summary/Abstract: Cluj-Napoca, known in medieval times as Kolozsvár or Klausenburg, emerged as one of the major urban centers of Transylvania. Its fortified walls, Gothic churches, and thriving guilds defined a civic landscape in which craftsmanship and faith intertwined. Yet the city’s medieval story extends far beyond architecture and trade; it is a narrative of community, continuity, and creativity that still echoes in the folk spirit of Transylvania today. This article explores the living connections between Cluj’s medieval heritage and contemporary approaches to cultural and language education, particularly those developed within the Erasmus+ PILLOT project. It argues that the values embodied in the city’s guild culture—collaboration, learning through practice, and the democratization of knowledge—find renewed expression in today’s inclusive educational practices, where folk culture serves as a bridge between past and present, between heritage and belonging.
