The Use of Artificial Intelligence among Religious Content Producers. Results of an Empirical Study in Hungary

Summary/Abstract: The study presents how the professional production of media content and the field of journalism related to religious content have changed in recent years due to the emergence of artificial intelligence. In its literature review, the text highlights the defining trends where new technology is transformingexisting work processes, editorial practices, and ethical guidelines in the field of journalism. The studyaddresses the changing work tasks of journalists, editorial practices, and their attitudes towards artificial intelligence. In the second half of the paper, we present the results of an empirical study. In February-March 2024, we conducted a questionnaire survey among Hungarian journalists. Based on this data, we examine the attitudes of religious and non-religious journalists regarding the use of artificial intelligence. The study presents the results of the survey research.
