Summary/Abstract: On the occasion of the recent book release "More than a Task - Women in the 20th Century Croatian Church" by Rebeka Anić, the author has agreed to answer some of our interview questions regarding the interest for such a topic, approach, methodology, and such sensitive topics as the stands of the Roman-Catholic Church towards women. Despite the striking literature she has consulted, the author regrets the apparent lack of literature on women in the churc. "Therefore, every discourse on the position of women in the Church is perceived as subjective. And naming some examples is treated as overemphasizing of specific cases. There is a need for a research that would show when this specific actually means general." Although she criticizes the socialist period and its relationship with the Church, she responsibly and honestly does not blame the socialism for all the Church's failures towards women. As she puts it: "This is a typical Croatian way to avoid confronting the problems". With delicate shading, she discusses the relations between the Church and the new social movements (feminism in particular) and thinks that "the Church under the pressure of social movements related to women gets back to its sources and tries to, at least to a certain extent according to German bishops, correct the prejudices about women that are overcome and contrary to the Testament.
