Summary/Abstract: Icons assume a specific and significant function within traditional peasant dwellings. These icons, made on wood or glass, reflect the universe of the saints and are considered protective elements of the domestic space. A special place in this ensemble is held by the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul, who usually appear together, each having his own duties in the life of the rural community. It is relevant to mention the reason why the two apostles are represented together and not separately. Although the meetings between them were rare, and there were even differences of opinion, both had an essential contribution to the transmission of Jesus Christ's teachings. Apostle Peter, one of the twelve disciples, had direct contact with the Savior, unlike Apostle Paul, who did not meet him personally. However, both contributed to the expansion of a new religion and are recognized as founders of Christianity.
