THE INTERNATIONAL CRIMINAL COURT AND THE GAZA STRIP CONFLICT: AN INTERNATIONAL LEGAL ANALYSIS

Summary/Abstract: The article provides an international legal analysis of the International Criminal Court’sinvolvement in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. The author discusses the Court’s jurisdictional fra-mework, including the significance of the Rome Statute, mechanisms for initiating proceedings, andthe challenges related to the enforcement of arrest warrants. Particular attention is given to politicaland legal obstacles, arising from the lack of universal ICC membership and the divergent positionsof states on its competence. The article also examines the international community’s reactions, theactivities of the ICC Prosecutor, and potential future scenarios, highlighting the necessity for theCourt to adapt flexibly to the realities of modern armed conflicts.
