Summary/Abstract: The growing use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in business decision-making is stirring up important ethical and social discussions. While AI has the potential to boost efficiency and spark innovation, it also brings significant risks, especially when it comes to algorithmic bias and transparency issues. AI models, particularly those relying on historical data, can reinforce existing social inequalities in areas like hiring, credit scoring, and customer profiling. Additionally, the often mysterious nature of many AI algorithms—commonly known as "black boxes"—makes it hard to hold anyone accountable and limits the ability of stakeholders to question or challenge automated decisions. At the same time, the use of AI in managing the workforce raises serious ethical questions about job loss and employee privacy. As AI takes over both routine and more complex tasks, there’s increasing worry about the diminishing job prospects, particularly for low- and mid-skill workers. Plus, using AI for real-time monitoring and predictive analytics in the workplace can threaten employee autonomy and confidentiality. These changes highlight the urgent need for strong regulatory and ethical guidelines to ensure AI is used responsibly. This paper delves into these interconnected issues, pushing for transparent AI models, fair data practices, and governance policies centered on people that safeguard both organizational integrity and individual rights in our rapidly changing, AI-driven work environment.
