Digitalization as a Tool for the Development of Project and Logistics Activities of Enterprises in a Smart Environment

Summary/Abstract: The paper is devoted to the study of the peculiarities of implementing the latest achievements in digitalization within project and logistics activities at the enterprise level, viewed through the lens of such economic categories as “digitalization,” “digital economy”, and “digital transformation”. The research focuses on identifying the main advantages and risks associated with the integration of digital tools into company management, as well as developing measures to promote and intensify their implementation as a factor in enhancing organizational flexibility and strengthening competitive advantages. Within the study, the authors summarized the theoretical foundation and current conceptual principles of economic digital transformation based on the smart approach. This includes a review of existing trends and drivers that accelerate the development of digital tools and platforms, along with the key consequences of the pervasive penetration of digital technologies into all areas of the economy and society. A comparative analysis of the level of digitalization in enterprises of the European Union and Ukraine was carried out, revealing a lag in domestic companies relative to their European counterparts. However, positive dynamics in the digital advancement of Ukrainian enterprises were also noted. The article analyzes the benefits and risks of integrating digital tools into key operational processes of economic entities, with a detailed examination of the organizational-management, financial, human resource, and security aspects of enterprise transformation in the context of digitalizing their project and logistics functions. It is established that, in the context of a developing smart environment, the optimal strategy for Ukrainian economic entities lies in leveraging the strengths and opportunities offered by digitalization while simultaneously mitigating its potential threats and overcoming associated risks. Prospects for further research are identified in the field of developing integrated mechanisms for digital transformation of enterprises, taking into account their sectoral and regional specifics.
