Summary/Abstract: The article analyses the philosophical and theological foundations of mediation as a tool for conflict resolution and fostering reconciliation in the context of contemporary societal challenges. Drawing inspiration from models in pastoral theology, it develops and presents a three stage model of mediation, consisting of anamnesis, reflection, and intervention. This model integrates theoretical reflections based on philosophical concepts of justice and harmony with the theological emphasis on forgiveness and human dignity. It formulates a methodology of mediation and provides a framework for sustainable practical solutions. Mediation is understood not only as a technical process but also as a profoundly ethical and spiritual tool for restoring interpersonal relationships. The central role in the process is played by the mediator, whose ethical competencies, empathy, and ability to facilitate dialogue are key to the success of the entire process.
