Summary/Abstract: The article analyzes the current demographic transformations in Kazakhstan and their impact on the labor market, with a special focus on employment and unemployment among youths and the population over 65 years old. The study notes that in recent years there has been a significant decline in the number of young people in the employment, while employment among the 65+ population has shown little growth. The dynamics of employment and unemployment among youths and older adults during the period 2014-2022 are examined based on statistical data. Industry segregation and differences in occupational preferences between the two age groups are revealed.
