Environmental Conditions in Poland during the Formation of Polish Statehood and Methods of Studying Their Changes

Summary/Abstract: Th is article, unfi nished by the author,examines the environmental conditions in Po-land during the formation of the state. It discussesthe eff ects of climate change and human activityon the landscape from the post-glacial period tothe 10th century, together with various methodsfor reconstructing these conditions, includinggeological and palynological analyses, as well asthe use of written and cartographic sources. Ithighlights the importance of an interdisciplinaryapproach that merges the natural sciences with thehumanities to gain a comprehensive understand-ing of the relationship between humans and theenvironment.
