Summary/Abstract: Objective: The main goal was to determine the relationship between personality traits (based on the Five-Factor Model) and intensity of achievement motivation in a group of ballet dancers. Materials and Methods: The study included 49 participants (40 F, 9 M) aged 15–40 years (MA: 20 y.o.), of whom 28 were ballet school students, 21 were ballet school graduates, including 14 professional dancers. Two questionnaire-based methods were used in the study: the NEO-FFI Personality Inventory and the Achievement Motivation Questionnaire, along with a custom survey. Results: The results indicate that the overall intensity of achievement motivation among dancers does not correlate with the intensity of their personality traits. Among men, a negative correlation was observed between motivation and openness to experience. In the student group, higher agreeableness was associated with lower motivation intensity, while in the professional dancers group, a negative relationship was noted between openness to experience and motivation. Education was negatively correlated with neuroticism and, at a trend level, with extraversion. Conclusions: The study provided valuable insights into the psychological profile of ballet dancers, highlighting the specificity of this group and practical applications for designing psychological and training support. Understanding the mechanisms of motivation and personality traits in dancers can support the development of their artistic potential and help prevent professional burnout.
