Summary/Abstract: Medical translation occupies a special place among specialized translations with its high terminological saturation, formal rigor and direct connection with human health. This article traces the main linguistic, professional and pragmatic features of medical translation, with the emphasis placed not only on linguistic characteristics, but also on the conditions of performance and the goals that the translation serves. Lexical and syntactic structures characteristic of medical texts are examined, which require a high degree of interpretative precision and preparation. Attention is also paid to the role of the translator, who must combine a set of skills and knowledge of professional standards. The pragmatic perspective includes an analysis of the communicative function of the translation, its target audience (doctor, patient, institution) and practical parameters such as deadlines, guarantor, volume and type of text. The aim of the presentation is to outline the real challenges and responsibilities in medical translation and to argue for the need for a comprehensive approach in which linguistic accuracy is combined with contextual and content adequacy.
