Summary/Abstract: The aim of the article is to compare the structure of the city homepages of Berlin and Sofia, based on the model of Androutsopoulos/Kraft (2002), in order to show the extent to which the visual and textual components of the homepages can function as advertising media, and to examine how the cultural nature of their selection and arrangement in presentation influences the attractiveness of the capital cities as desirable places to live and travel.
