Summary/Abstract: The aim of the article is to characterize the state administration and the function it plays in the state security system. The main research problem was formulated: What is the function of administration in the state security system? Obtaining an answer to the above question required the use of qualitative methods, including a critical analysis of legal acts and selected items of literature on the subject. The state administration plays a key role in ensuring the security of citizens by creating, implementing and monitoring policies and activities aimed at protecting the interests of the state. The article focuses on three main areas of administration in the state security system. The first is crisis management, which requires effective administrative action in emergency situations. Another area is internal security, which includes crime prevention, the fight against corruption and the maintenance of public order. The third area is external security, which concerns the defense of the country against external threats, such as armed conflicts or terrorism. The state administration cooperates with the armed forces, intelligence and other security agencies to ensure effective protection of the country’s borders and interests. The article also highlights the role of administration in cybersecurity. In the era of advanced technology and IT attacks, the state administration must adapt to these challenges by developing strategies and technological measures to protect the state’s information systems and citizens’ data.
