Summary/Abstract: The Roma are a peaceful people who originate from the Punjab province in India. After discrimination and persecution, they left India. In search of better living conditions and prosperity, they settled mainly in Europe, but also around the world. No other people has been forced to migrate as often as the Roma people. It is precisely because of their frequent changes of residence that they settled in Bosnia and Herzegovina and a part of it called Podrinje. With the outbreak of war conflicts in Bosnia and Herzegovina, including Podrinje, the Roma became victims of war crimes along with other non-Serb populations, mainly Bosniaks. Relevant indicators indicate that the Roma were victims of numerous war crimes during that period, manifested through various forms and methods of execution. So far, little attention has been paid to this issue, which should be completely changed in the coming period and a significant focus should be placed on war crimes committed against members of the Roma nationality. In this regard, the scientific research understanding of war crimes against the Roma represents a complex combined application of scientific methods to collect relevant data on various forms and ways of committing crimes. The term war crime in this paper will primarily be considered crimes committed against persons of Roma nationality in the period 1992-1995 in the Podrinje region. In order to discover and scientifically research these crimes, it is necessary to trace a pattern that will serve as a model and as a guide for such research, i.e. to represent a research paradigm. Applying this in the field of scientific research procedures, methods and techniques of research, we arrive at a methodological paradigm that should be the basic guideline of the scientific research process related to the suffering of the Roma.
