Summary/Abstract: Jan de Weryha-Wysoczañski showed his sculpture at the palace chapel in Oroñsko. The artist concentrates on objects made of wood. In Hamburg, he showed monumental wooden objects in a former railroad equipment repair shop. From 2001 to 2003, he worked on a series entitled ‘Wood Boards’. His ‘Cube’ show in Oroñsko was connected with that series. The work can be considered as the minimal art. They are geometric, abstract forms. They reveal the richness of wood structure and texture. They resemble objects designed by such artists as Andre, Judd, Morris and Serra. The artist concentrates on tautology. He avoids metaphors and symbols. He follows the ideas of expressionism. His natural epiphanies fit both chapel and factory interiors.
