Summary/Abstract: In this paper, we approach the historical reality in the novel Pakrac. The romanesque image of Pakrac reality is, of course, an inevitable theme of a work for which this historical time and space are one of the most important themes. In our research, we primarily use material that tells about the national survival of Serbs in the territory of Western Slavonia (Parva Walachia) in the past few centuries, up to the Civil War in Croatia, where the greatest attention was paid to Pakrac in 1991. Determining how these elements are reflected in the novel is the main objective of this article. Taken as a whole, the research could be described as a study of the historical sources of the novel.
