Summary/Abstract: In July 2005, The City Museum in Wroc³aw organized an exhibition of art-work by Josep Guinovart, a Catalan artist. The artist is little known outside of Spain and France. He follows the tradition of Picasso, Miro and Tapies. Also, there are certain analogies between Guinovart and W³adys³aw Hasior’s work. The Spanish artist isn’t however, a fellow traveler, who journeys with other artists whom he incidentally meets. He is interested in such artistic styles as informel art, and expressionism. He often uses found objects in order to produce his own installations. Guinovart considers pictures as theatre stage. He shows us synthetic vision of the reality. He pays homage to such artists as Miro and Lorca. He is interested in paintings, book illustration, graphic art, stage design, and murals.
