Summary/Abstract: The Ambrosiana Library, founded 1609 in Milan (Italy) by Cardinal Federico Borromeo, since its origins has been devoted to multiculturalism and history and therefore hosts a large collection of manuscripts, printed books and archive documents related to many countries, languages and historical periods. Among the impressive collection of manuscripts preserved in the Ambrosiana Library, several of them deal with the history of Bulgaria. The present paper is devoted to manuscript S 135 inf, whose content is the history of several countries of the Balkans, Caucasus and Africa. The manuscript, whose redaction can be dated between 1774 and 1819, was originally part of a larger composition, and it remains unknown how and when it was given to the Ambrosiana Library. The section dealing with the history of Bulgaria is for the first time transcribed and offered to the scholars as well as to the general public. The text focuses on the history of Bulgaria from the end of the Roman Empire to the consolidation of the Ottoman rule in 1774.
