Оn the author’s freedom of expression, the form of art and unbearable visibility – contemporary cultural issues in the field of film art

Summary/Abstract: This article explores the points of reference for understanding the processes of changing the status of art, artists and works of art in the context of global technological processes of the modern information age. The theoretical approach will allow to identify trends in the change of the structure of the social and cultural field in relation to contemporary arts and cultural industries under the influence of information flows. Cinema and the film business naturally fall into the epicenter of these processes and the new contexts that elevate cinema as art, filmmakers as authors, and films as products of the creative arts against a global business of glamor, spectacle, and oblivion, subject to marketing strategies, algorithms for rapid success, but also to constant reproduction of uniformity. An attempt will be made to identify symptoms of impending more serious confrontation between film art and the film industry in the field of culture.
