Summary/Abstract: The article examines artificial intelligence (AI) as a technology whose rapid advancement raises complex challenges in terms of benefits and risks for the justice system. The advantages of the development of AI can undoubtedly be huge if it is used, for example, to predict crimes and as a tool for criminal intelligence. However, software programs can malfunction and cause serious harm, such as implications for privacy-preserving big data technologies. Some aspects related to the need to regulate artificial intelligence and the need for a deeper knowledge of this innovative technology are considered.
