Summary/Abstract: This paper aims to analyze the most significant liturgical celebrations that took place in Rome during the jubilee year of 1500, as documented by Johannes Burchard, the master of papal ceremonies. The study highlights various dimensions of papal liturgies, including political, reli- gious, and visual aspects. Particular emphasis is placed on the ritual of opening the Holy Doors, masses celebrated by the Pope in St. Peter’s Basilica, the Corpus Christi celebration, and proces- sions featuring Marian icons.
